Resolution
As many of you usually tend to do, I usually sit down and write down my resolutions for the New Year. But, I've learned that in order for me to have a different year, I must do something different. So, this year I decided not to write down a list of things that I want to accomplish or a list of things that I don't want to do this year. Instead, what I decided to do is to simply be a BETTER ME.
Being a better Me will drive me to love more, to be more compassionate, to laugh more, to trust God more, to give myself to the fulfillment of God's will, to enjoy each day as if it is my last, to look for opportunities, to look for open doors, to be more ATTENTIVE to the needs of others, to be more productive, to be firm in my beliefs, to be stronger in my Faith, to be a more devoted wife, mother, daughter, Pastor, Preacher, Hairstylist, Friend. So, you see, a better Me involves You. Please, understand that these are not resolutions, these are just the results of being a better Me.
This picture is a reflection of who I want to be this year. You probably are thinking that "goofy" is what I want to be but no, you see this picture is Me. I want the smile on my face to be contagious; I want the smile on my face to bring joy and laughter to those who are sad. I want the silliness in this picture to show that I'm a person like anyone else. I have a personality that is unique because God created me to be unique, therefore, I don't have to pretend to be someone else. I want to encourage my husband and my son to be themselves. It's ok to goof around; it's ok to be silly; it's ok to laugh.
I choose to allow the Joy of the Lord fill my life this year. I encourage you to be a BETTER YOU. Whatever that means to you. But remember, that becoming a better You involves SACRIFICE. You may need to share your time, resources, finances, and self with others. You may even need to do things that you really don't want to do. But please know that becoming a better You will lead you to becoming the person who God created you to be.
So, in 2018, let's take "I" and "me" and replace it with "we" and "us".
Looking Forward to a Different Year!
